Creative Commons License‘Considerations and Practice of Creating and Implementing Effective Game Sound Design’ – by David J Gurney

This research paper was written over the course of 18 months, in a self-directed manner, and submitted as partial fulfilment for the award of Master of Arts by Research at De Montfort University. In it, I aimed to recontextualise Michel Chion’s Audio-Vision (1994) and provide a three-layer working model for the conception, creation and implementation of effective game sound design.

It was initially submitted in December 2015, and examined in a viva voce in February 2016. Following the viva, I made minor amendments to the work and have been awarded the degree.
